(M-MS) and (E-M) Wednesday Moderate and Slower Pace Short Hikes

This is a regular Meetup for GNHA Wednesday Slower Pace Short Hikes. This group of hikers are typically the more senior members of our club. Many hikers in this group are not on Meetup; rather, they connect by email and telephone weekly. RSVP on Meetup is not required. This is a Bulletin Board Announcement only, no hike description will be added here.

The choice of hikes is typically decided by Monday night of each week by Lynn Coleman. Hikes range from 5-8 miles,[masked] feet elevation gain, and a pace of 2 miles per hour. We will stop for clothing adjustments (stripping off layers) and water breaks, but not as frequent as the E-M group (described below). Typically, the group will stop for a lunch break on the trail or sometimes on the way back to Greenville. If we plan to stop on the way back it will be a hike close to home and will be announced in the write up.

We also now have an E-M level hiking group. This will consist of a 4ish mile hike with a 1-1 1/2 mile an hour pace and no more than 500' EG. With more frequent stops to catch your breath. We are offering this as an alternative to those who are starting to think M-MS is becoming too difficult, are new to hiking and want to try it out or maybe coming back from an injury and need a soft place to start to 'come back into the fold'. You may contact me and indicate if this is your choice as well and I will get you on the correct level to hike. We want everyone to have the opportunity, no matter what their abiities, to continue to thrive as hikers as long a possible.

An eMail announcement will be sent for hikers on the distribution list weekly. You MUST contact the hike coordinator if you have not hiked with this Wednesday group before to get on the distribution list.
