Hi! A great classic SoCal hike is Sandstone Peak via the Mishe Mokwa trail. I think we did this a couple years ago. Whatever - will be fun. It's 6.1 miles with a 1686' elevation gain. Good workout! Dogs are not allowed on the trail. There is a gravel parking lot with a fair number of spaces, but I'm pretty sure the last time we did it, there was a full lot, so let's all shoot to arrive a little earlier, find parking, meet and start hiking on time. Since it's not a Fido-friendly hike, let's head over to Duke's for lunch after.
For great details on this hike, check out the SoCal hiker description (https://socalhiker.net/mishe-mokwa-trail-to-sandstone-peak/) and for really great directions driving into the site (12896 Yerba Buena Road, Malibu, CA 90265), check out the Hikespeak description (https://www.hikespeak.com/trails/sandstone-peak/).
Hope to see you there!
