I thought that since September might be a tad toasty, we might want to be starting earlier in the day and sticking close to the coast. We haven't done the Shipwreck hike for a couple years, so why not? I checked the San Pedro tidal chart and low tide is supposed to be at 7:41 am on 9/14. That should give us ample opportunity to hike along the cliff and then back to our cars via the street.
Please note that we are starting from the corner of Paseo del Mar and Avenida Mirola as noted by Josh in his description. See his full description: https://californiathroughmylens.com/shipwreck-hike-ranchos-palos-verdes. We will head a little different than Josh's description. We'll head past the Dominator wreckage over to Bluff Park, walking back to our cars on Paseo del Mar. The description and the pictures will help you anticipate what you'll be hiking on - rocks and a little scrambling. We did this hike a couple years ago, so you could go see our groups pictures as well. More than a few comments noted there's some trash issues, so I might bring a trash bag and help with a lil' pick-up if anyone else wants to as well.
We should be done by around 11 and then I think off to the big Whole Foods over in Plaza El Segundo for lunch ... or Salt Creek Grille if we're feeling like sitting outside on their cute lawn by the koi pond. Ah ... relaxing ...
