What to Bring http://www.meetup.com/GO-London/pages/Kit_List%27s/
From Guildford station we walk through the town before heading south along the river Wey. Following the river we meet a small wooden bridge at a junction with the Pilgrims Way, a road which once followed by pilgrims from Winchester to the shrine of Thomas Becket in Canterbury Cathedral. Turning east we follow this trail which ascends to Chantry Wood and onto St Martha's hill, at the top of the hill we come across St Martha's Church a pretty little church in a spectacular location.
The views from the top are superb', on a clear day you can see as far as the South Downs. From the church we descend a sandy path into a small valley before climbing back up to the well known beauty spot of Newlands Corner. We enter a wooded area and continue to Hackhurst Down and pick up a small road which takes us to the pretty village of Gomshall, where you will have an option of joining us for something to eat and drink before returning to London.
