This pretty Chilterns walk takes us from Great Missenden, through fields and pastures through the idilic village of Little Missenden a steady climb takes us to Penn Wood, a large ancient beechwood, we follow a grassy ridge with a panorama over the Buckinghamshire countryside before descending into Amersham old town.
Meeting Point, London Marylabone Station 08.45 outside WH Smiths, we will be taking the 09.12 train to Great Missenden arriving at 09.53 journey time 41mins.

Walk Difficulty, 16.3km 10.1m this trail is on footpaths and tracks through open undulating countryside, grade moderate.
From Great Missenden we head South to the 14th century hilltop church of St Peter and Paul, we cross open grassland to Hyde Farm where a track takes us through Hyde Heath common woodland.
After a short descent we reach the ancient village of Little Missenden and the church of St John the Baptist with a Huge 13th century mural of St Christopher and the Burial place of Roald Dahl.
A climb takes us out of the valley to Pen Wood renowned for it's rich ancient woodland to our 3rd church at Penn street, where from the tower it is supposedly possible to see no less than eight other counties.
The undulating trail then follows the Chiltern Hills through the villages Winchmore Hill and Coleshill with its windmill and neo gothic All Saints church before descending to historic Amersham old town and the church of Saint Mary
From the old town a short descent takes us into Amersham where you can join us for food and a drink before returning home.
