This course provides full time ski/snowboard instruction for all levels from absolute beginner, never put skis or Snowboard on, to expert who like to go fast, steep and dabble off piste. The course provides 23 hours of instruction over 4/5 days Monday to Friday, beginners get an extra half day instruction on Sunday to get them started. There is normally a minimum of 5 different level groups which are established on the first day ensuring everyone is in the correct group. For absolute beginners the full time course is definitely recommended, the instructor is always on hand, building confidence, providing help and taking you to slopes suitable for your level. Even if you are an advanced or expert this course still has a lot to offer; benefiting from the instructor's local knowledge you will be guided to the best conditions, secret spots and most challenging descents pushing your skiing and making sure you get the most from your week on the slopes.
Saturday - Arrival, check-in and registration.
Sunday - Equipment issue from early morning, free for the day. Complete beginners will be offered instruction on Sunday afternoon.
Monday - Morning, meet your instructor, ski/snowboard close to the other groups to allow for harmonisation across the groups. Afternoon – ski/snowboard with your group.
Tuesday - Morning & Afternoon sessions
Wednesday - Morning OR Afternoon session, or free all day depending on resort.
Thursday - Morning & Afternoon sessions
Friday - Morning & Afternoon sessions
Saturday - Morning free, check-out at 2:00pm
On registration you will discuss your experience with a member of staff which will allow you to provisionally be allocated a space in a group of similar level. During the first session the groups will be harmonized to make sure everyone is in the correct group for their level.
The on-site UCPA store has a great selection of to suit all levels. The ski store team will issue you with equipment suitable for your level and course - more advanced skiers will have equivalent to hire shop "gold" standard, for everyone else the equivalent to "silver" standard is offered.
UCPA appreciate that each manufacturer offers a slightly different boot fit and that everyone’s feet are different. Therefore the ski store has a large range available enabling you to find a pair that will be comfy for the type of skiing you will be doing.
Personal clothing is not provided, you must bring your own outer clothing, gloves, goggles. Check out our advised packing list.
