Wild camping and hiking weekend in Scotlands wild Island, the Isle of Rum the jewel in the crown of the Inner Hebrides. This is an island of stunning mountain and coastal scenery, spectacular wildlife including eagles, shearwaters, red deer and the hardy Rum ponies the island boasts 17 ancient monuments and was once a large volcano which formed the mountains we can see today. We hike from Kinloch to wild camp and explore this remote wilderness.
Leaving late from London on Thursday we travel by overnight bus to arrive in Glasgow in time for breakfast before taking the train along the iconic West Highland Line widely considered to be the most to picturesque railway journey in Britain. We arrive in Mallaig passing on route the Glenfinnan Viaduct which features in Harry Potter. We have lunch in Mallaig before taking a charter boat to the Isle of Rum where we embark on our wild camping adventure.
This trip is graded HARD and is for fit mountain walkers used to long days out, you will be carrying tents sleeping bags food and stoves and must be comfortable carrying a pack weighing 12-14kg over 16km per day for three days.

Thursday- 21:30 Meeting London Victoria (there will be an option to meet early for some food) 22:30 Overnight coach from London Glasgow, arrive 07:05.
Friday- 07:05 arrive Glasgow 08:21 Train to Mallaig 13:34 Arrive Mallaig, lunch, 14:30 boat charter to Rum 16:00 Hike, to Loch Aim Miam, wild camp. 2-3hrs 5km 350m ascent.
Saturday- Hike, to Scooner Point, wild camp. 6-8hrs 16km 700m ascent.
Sunday-Hike to Shamhnan Insir, wild camp 5-7hrs 16km 500m ascent.
Monday- Hike to Kinloch slipway, 4-5hrs 350m ascent. 13:30 boat charter Rum to Mallaig, lunch, 16:05 Train from Mallaig to Glasgow arrive 21:22. 22:15 Overnight coach from Glasgow.
Tuesday- Arrive 06:50 London Victoria.
