Beginners Bellydance Workshop
This is a 3 hour beginners belly dance workshop from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday 7 November 2015 in Elstead. I haven't been before but it looks like fun! They are on Facebook under 'Bellydance & Folkdance evenings in Elstead'. The cost for the workshop is £5 when we arrive, there is no Meetup fee. Their Facebook site says; 'Come and try belly dance with Mara Hardy and friends at this fun workshop. No experience is necessary. Learn a few techniques, enjoy world music and dance for only £5. All proceeds go to The Smile Train and Sightsavers charities. Refreshments and coin belts are provided.' Coin belts are the jingly belts/scarves that you tie round your waist. If you would like to come and don't have transport, if you could get to Ash station I can pick you up. They also do a monthly belly dance and folkdance 'fun evening' one Friday a month but I will try out the workshop first to learn the techniques.

    What we're about

Who are we and what do we do?

We're a broad mix of people with a love of fun and the countryside. The group currently has members aged 20 to 40+ from all over Surrey, Hampshire, and Royal Berkshire.

We organise activities just about every weekend, and often during the week as well. Outdoor activities include walking, cycling, canoeing, fireworks displays, town visits, archaeological digs - anything that any of our members are interested in! Indoors we visit restaurants, go to films and the theatre, ten-pin bowling, quiz nights, etc.

Each three-monthly programme generally includes a weekend away. GOG is affiliated to the Youth Hostel Association of England and Wales so we often stay at youth hostels, but we sometimes hire bunkhouses, camping barns, and cottages, stay at independent hostels, and go camping too.

We don't just stay in Guildford... we've recently visited England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Italy amd the Czech Republic.

All our events are organised by members for members. We encourage everyone to organise something at least once per year. (If you have the energy, you can organise up to 5 events on each GOG programme). There is no charge to attend any GOG event, except for entrance fees or activity costs, eg museums, cinemas, bowling- ALL our walks aref free!!!

You're free to try any 3 local events (no holidays/weekends away) before formally joining the group and paying just £10 membership, which lasts until 30th September yearly. We don't advertise all our events on our Meetup pages, but you can get details of everything we do by sending an email to hello@gog.org.uk telling us who you are and asking to be added to the Yahoo group

Hope to see you at a walk, social or other event soon
