Got hands? Got feet? Got Chuck’s? (Or other stiff-soled shoes) Got beat? Join us for an hour of improvisational ChuckDancing (basic tap rhythm-making in your Chuck’s) and Found-Object Percussion.
No musical experience needed, but if you have it feel free to bring it on.
Whether you’ve always wanted to try tap, drums or music making of some sort, now’s a great chance to be in a low-key, relaxed environment to give it a try, have some fun and meet some new friends. This meetup is absolutely and strictly about FUN and collaborative sound experimentation.
No music sheets, no expensive tap shoes or instruments…you can bring an object you think might provide an interesting sound, but otherwise we will just pick up something in the space and jam with it. No pressure, just fun and relaxation! All you need is your JOY meter set to “YES” for the session. We will spend approximately 20 minutes each on basic tap drills, found object rhythms and then collaboratively putting together some combinations to see what we come up with.
Bringing FUNday to Monday, we will meet EVERY OTHER Monday 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
