What we're about

This is a group for anyone in their 20s, 30s and 40s interested in socializing and making new friends. Let's hang out, explore Grand Rapids, and have fun! Expect brewery events, book club, wine tasting, volunteer opportunities, trivia, dinner, outdoor events including physical activities, festivals, tubing in the summer, sledding in the winter. We're always open to suggestions on new events too. Join the group, and RSVP to your first event. If you need more details or have questions, send us a quick message. We can't wait to meet you!

Beach Trip to Millennium Park! (Better Off Read GR)

Millennium Park

Combine two of the best elements of summer as we grab our towels and favorite beach reads for fun in the sun at Millennium Park! Chat with new friends about what you’ve been reading this summer while building a sandcastle, lounging on a float in the lake, or running excitedly through the splash-pad. We’ll bring a cooler, some snacks to share, and plenty of sunscreen! Come with anything you like to have at the beach, and feel free to bring a friend or four (no kids under 20 years of age, please). How to Find Us: You can meet us in front of the beach admission gates at 12:52pm. Jordan will be carrying a blue umbrella, a large Victoria Secret white/pink striped bag, and wearing a pink coverup. If you come after we’ve entered the beach area, you should be able to spot us by our navy blue and light blue umbrella, blue and white striped blanket, and a single chair with a Grand Valley logo on the back of it. Event Details July 13th, 2019 (rain date: July 14th – We will announce at 7am on July 13th if the event is postponed/cancelled due to weather) 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM 1415 Maynard Ave SW, Walker, MI 49534 Admission is $4 per adult; Visa and MasterCard are accepted Concessions are available for purchase; we will have chips and snacks to pass around as well. Grab your camera for a walking photography lesson with local professional photographer Dianne Carroll Burdick. Learn tips and tricks for shooting in an urban setting and discover interesting vantage points and framing techniques. All skill levels welcome. Wear comfortable shoes and don’t forget your camera! Rain date July 29. Meet on the front steps of the Main Library.

Michigan Team Trivia - Come out, meet people, and have fun! Cheers will reserve a table for our group. Any winnings from the previous week will be used to buy appetizers for the tables. Please make sure to update your RSVP before the day of trivia so we can give them an appropriate head count. If you can't make it, please change your RSVP to free up a spot for someone on the waiting list. Trivia starts on the dot at 7:00, please arrive around 6:45 to get settled before we begin.

• What we'll do Sharpen your pencils, grab a coffee and chat while indulging in some coloring time in the Schuler's Cafe. This is a relaxed way to meet new people or reconnect with friends. • What to bring Coloring pencils, fine-tipped pens or crayons. I'll provide some coloring books and postcards you can work on, but you can also bring your own. • Important to know Food and beverages are available for purchase inside the cafe.
