Breakfast at Mi Apa ~ Remote Work

Remote work and telecommuting trends continue to rise especially in the tech sector.  What are some of the pros and cons for both the employer and employee?  What are some strategies for making this scenario work well for everyone involved and increase productivity over the normal workplace environment?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Come meet up with other professionals in the area for some fun morning tech discussions.  Some excellent breakfast and coffee is available if desired.  You can view the menu here: http://www.miapalatincafe.com/
Any topic is fair game for discussion.  Some suggestions are linux, security, mobile, cloud, Java, C#, Python, Ruby, Scala, Clojure, AWS, Google App Engine, Continuous Integration, Agile, Scrum, and development tools.  I'd like to find out if people would be interested in finding a place for early morning presentations or whether a free-form open forum is preferred.
A link to the sister site and google group are below.
Please RSVP if you plan to come so we can call ahead for a reservation of space!
    Great bunch of people, I always feel welcome and I hope others do, too.
    Request for followup: Toward the end of the meetup, I overheard someone at the other end of the table mention something about needing writers for Code for Gainesville. I wasn't able to follow up before leaving, because I am silly. Could whoever that was either post here or message me directly more details about what they need? I may know someone.
      Hi Oskar, nice meeting you this morning and thanks for attending! I like the website design and product idea. You may want to consider presenting at the Gainesville 1 Million Cups event. http://www.1millioncu...
