  • Hey All!

I will do the Camino de Santiago starting in May 2017.

I have done it before in 2012 and it was an amazing experience. I highly recommend it!

If anyone would like to join for the adventure please rsvp here. WE WON'T HAVE A MEETUP/MEETING ABOUT IT UNTIL JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2017.

I may just do 3 or 4 weeks of it, and a friend of mine may do one week. So whether you can do some or all 30 days of the Camino, you are most welcome to join😊

The starting point is St. Jean Pied de Port in France for Camino Frances.

I would be interested in doing a section of the Camino. Have you decided on dates yet?

For people interested in doing a section in order to qualify for the Compostela, you must walk at least the last 100km into Santiago and should remember to obtain 2 stamps per day in their credencial or pilgrim record over the final 100km distance.

A certificado is available for those who arrive at Santiago but do not meet the Cathedral’s requirements for the compostela i.e. pilgrims without religious or spiritual motivation.

In addition the pilgrim office in Santiago also issues an additional Certificate of Distance to those who would like this. The current cost is €3 and it records the route walked, starting point, kilometres walked and date of arrival in Santiago.

U can also get a passport over there for maybe a euro or something...from any hostel at the start. In Dublin i THINK they charge 10euro if im remembering correctly

    • Damian F.

Yeah it was €10 in dublin when I got it there and got my first stamp in dublin then. The hostel or tourist information have them on the camino for 1 or 2 euro and they will have a shell for you as well. ... I joined the camino forum on line as well, if anybody is interested they have loads of information and advice on it. ;-) .... sorry just my job makes me research and analyse everything, I should learn to not carry it over to downtime 😎 ... Buen Camino

Hi Annmarie. Yeah a mid point is great idea. Makes it accessible to all sides. Renville is lovely and also a nice easy introduction for all of us. Look forward to it!

This sounds great! I've been thinking of doing one week of the Camino in April '17 and it would be great to meet up with other people doing it at the same time! Looking forward to this :)

  • Steven

Hi, Caroline. The Camino is on my bucket list, and I thought '17 was going to be the year to do it. Glad to see any meeting isn't until early next year as I'm away in France for a while and wouldn't want to miss out.
