Char Forge is a large well developed city, far from the boarders of the kingdom and even further from the untamed lands where the monsters normally roam. The 3 kingdoms (Forian, The Great Empire of Thon and the Elven nation) have been at peace for the past 60 years, the Dwarves to the west are reclusive and only permit dwarven or Gnomish traders within their boarders but often come to both Char Forge and other nearby towns for trading, and there are many Dwarven Families present in the city. Gnomes and halflings are rarer but not unheard of. Char Forge is the Capital of Forian and was designed and built in a colaboration between King Alexios I, the Dwarven Kingdom and the Elven council.
All of the non-evil gods have either churches or cathedrals within the city, the leading religion has been Pharmasa since they put down the undead uprising 200 years ago, and all of the major noble families consider it an honor when a son or daughter is chosen to be a Keeper of the Dead (or so they say publicly) or Birth guide. Summoning, controlling or raising undead is a crime punishable by death.
Guilds are of moderate strength at least those that are permitted. Being a large city there are areas of that are better patrolled than others and guilds both public and secret that ply their trades.
The city guard is reinforced with a company of Cavaliers Led by Sir Tomas, 3rd in line of succession. The Crown Prince Xavier 1st in line and reported to be a warrior of some skill. Prince Xavier's unit regularly patrols the Untamed lands as the capital is far closer to the boarder. The child kings father was killed in the untamed lands while on campaign to quell the Minotaurs. Second in line for the thrown is the only Daughter of the King, Princess Alysia. Very little is known of the Princess. The boy King is 12 and is advised by the council of Regents which has representatives of the major guilds, relgions and the 2 colleges in the city.
