Great meeting. Hope Michael can present his overview on different gaming technologies in a future meeting.

Also wanted to share links to the three groups I mentioned last night. Palm Beach County Linux Users Group is a great resource if you want to know more about Linux, Open Source or even hardware. They also run a Software Freedom Day event in September. I highly recommend the group. Their web site is at pbclug.org. You can join the mailing list (pbclinux on Yahoo Groups) from the link at that site and ask questions or pick up tips. New Tech Community ( http://www.newtechcommunity.com/ ) is the entrepreneurial group I mentioned. There's also Hacklab North Boynton ( http://hacklabnobo.wordpress.com/ ) run by the Ruby group (Palm Beach Ruby on Meetup). They're going to be opening up their monthly Ruby discussions to other languages and topics.

The meetup went well. We went over some basic functions in 3ds Max including: poly manipulation, intruding, extruding, beveling, uvwraping, and exporting. We also went into graphics gale and did a little pixel art. Finally we imported the mesh into unity and applied the texture to it.

I will have access to a conference room we can use after July 1. Would the group be interested to meet in the Stonegate bank building at the corner of Yamato and Dixie Hwy in Boca Raton?

If you need a location in Palm Beach County, you can check with Mark Laymon who runs Caffeine Spaces and the New Tech Meetup in Boca or with the guys who run the Palm Beach Ruby Meetup group about their new Hackspace North Boynton. Both groups have meeting places and would like other meetups to use them.

I emailed them, the going rate for a conference room is 15 an hour. which is OK. Checked out a IHOP which also seemed promising. My dad had a few meeting there over the years and all they require is a few people get some coffee. They don't have a big TV or Monitor but i have a decent projector we could always use.. SO if caffeine spaces get back to me we can go there, other wise I think IHOP could be an option.

I still haven't heard from Caffeine Spaces. I called IHOP and they said tey can take us in as long as we get some coffee

FAU just cancelled the event. "I apologize, but I made an error in reserving the room for your organization. I will need to cancel the previous booking and since this is considered an outside organization, you will need to complete a Facilities Use Application and then it has to go through the Space and Facilities Committee, which meets twice a month, so I doubt that you would have an answer prior to next week. "

I am in the process of finding a new venue on campus, I will post the new date and location asap.
