Details

Hey everyone,

We have a great event for everyone interested in game development. Whether you are completely new or a seasoned veteran. The date is to be determined but likely Mid-May on a Friday evening, Saturday and maybe early Sunday.

**Bring a laptop or computer to create the games or content using tools like Unity, Blender, etc.**

Miami-Dade College InterAmerican Campus Room 401

Dates

June 12th: 6:30PM - 10PM

June 13th: 8AM - 6PM

The goal is to help new devs learn some skills, get comfortable with their respective tools and get familiar with GameJams.

For the more experienced devs it is a chance to help grow the community, meet fellow devs in a shared working environment to network, and of course fan the flame of creativity.

All in all a quicker, smaller scope of a GameJam with a focus on noob friendliness to grow the talent pool in Florida.

Contact Andru Fratarcangeli at [masked] if you have any questions, comments, or concerns :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

This intro to GameJams works something like this below. Although this is highly tentative:

Friday (June 12th: 6:30PM - 10PM)
1. Meetup at the MDC InterAmerican Campus Room
401 (Big one in the courtyard) and have a quick rundown of the event
2. Get people organized by skills they would like to
develop and then assign them to a tutorial team or
dev teams.
3. Distribute the GameJam concept to the dev teams
to begin pre-production planning.
4. Setup the tutorial teams to have all the links and
resources they need setup and downloaded.

Saturday (June 13th: 8AM - 6PM)

1. Let GameJam devs and tutorial devs work
throughout the day.
2. GameJam Devs should be in or near full production
on their game throughout the day
3. Tutorial devs should be working through their sets
of tutorials with help from more seasoned
community game devs who are willing to help them
overcome sticking points.
4. If we don't have Sunday morning to do a wrap up of the projects, we will wrap it up Saturday evening. Let people see eachothers work, maybe even give out a prize or two :)
