Tizen is a new operating system supported by Samsung Electronics and Intel (among others). You can use web technologies to write applications that run across multiple device segments or Tizen also supports C/C++. Phones will be released later this year and there's already an app store to publish your apps on. So it is your chance to get in early!
Join us for a DevLab followed by a Hack Competition alongside the first Tizen Developer Conference (https://www.tizen.org/events/tizen-developer-conference/2013/conference-schedule) at the Hilton in SF. We'll kick off on Friday at the Hacker Lounge in the hotel and transition to SandBox Suites South Park on Saturday, May 25.
Both the DevLab and the Hack Competition are FREE and OPEN to developers (even if you haven't attended the conference).
What to expect
--Devices will be available for you to use.
--3 categories for awards — $1K Grand Prize, $500 Most Innovative, $500 Best Ported App
--You may bring code but you will be judged on what you build during the competition
