At Toastmasters we know that speaking in public can be a stressful experience, and here you can learn how to overcome these challenges and transform your public speaking experience.

As a member of Toastmasters, you can learn how to successfully formulate, express and sell yourself and your ideas and reduce nerves. You can improve your ability to listen and evaluate other people’s ideas, and develop vital leadership skills along the way.

Anyone interested in seeing a Toastmasters meeting, to develop leadership skills, public speaking confidence or just meet interesting people and spend a nice evening.

Local Toastmasters Club: Gatwick Communicators Speech & Evaluation Contest

At Toastmasters we know that speaking in public can be a stressful experience, and here you can learn how to overcome these challenges and transform your public speaking experience.

Speech contests are a Toastmasters tradition. Each year, thousands of Toastmasters compete in the Humorous, Evaluation, Table Topics and International speech contests. Competition begins with club contests, and winners continue competing through the Area, Division and District levels. Winners of the District level International Speech Contest proceed to the region quarterfinal level. Following region quarterfinals, winners advance to the semifinals for a chance to take part in the World Championship of Public Speaking®.

At this meeting our members will compete in International Speech & Evaluation contest.

International Speech:
Contestants present a five- to seven- minute speech on any subject they choose

Evaluation
Contestants observe a five-to seven-minute test speech and then present a two-to three-minute evaluation of the test speech.

Everyone is invited to see the contestants. Before the meeting and during the break, we have a bit of a social gathering where you can meet others, learn more about the Toastmasters program! It's a lot of fun! Hope to see you there!
