Do you prefer RED or WHITE wines?

If the weather is cool, I tend to go for reds such as Syrah, Shiraz, Red Zifandel (not to be confused with White Zif), Pinot Noir, Malbec and Sangiovese. If warmer, I tend to like lightly chilled, drier whites such as Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.

What is currently your favorite wine?

My favorite wines are those that are on the grocery store shelves that are on this weeks special that normally sell for $11-20, but are temporarily marked down 40-50%. I like delicious bargains!

How much on average do you spend on a bottle of everyday wine?

$6-10 (the sale price) for everyday drinking wines. For special occasions, of course, I occasionally spend $15-20 per bottle.

Where do you like to shop for wine?

Of course, I like TJ's, but also regularly shop at Von's, Ralphs and Albertson's near Los Feliz. Unfortunately we do not have a BevMo store in this area or I would go there as well.

My first name is Jon and last name begins with O, but for social reasons to differentiate me in a crowd when someone says "Jon" I have adopted the nickname "Jono." I'm a native Angelino & wine drinker and welcome you to our club.

What Jono is saying about this Meetup Group

We have some of the friendliest and most interesting Gay male professional members that the average person would likely never meet at a Gay bar (at least from my personal experience). And our members--whether or not they may live in West Hollywood--have none of that stereotypical Gay attitude. Our club is fortunate to have so many nice guys in it--many whom over time have become like brothers (or sisters, as the case may be--lol).
