NATIONAL CHOCOLATE CAKE DAY - OPEN GAME NIGHT / POT LUCK BUFFET
NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT PREPAY ON THIS SITE......THEY CHARGE A FEE TO US....AND IT IS JUST MORE CONFUSING. You do not need to pay the $5 in advance, or to reserve, or to attend. If you chose to make your contribution in advance it allows us to prepay our fees to The Rush Center and the MeetUp fees. Thank You! The Rush Center has free on-site parking in several lots around Candler Park Connection. Visitors attending events on the evenings and weekends should utilize the lot behind the building, using Mell Avenue, and turning before the Crossfit gym if arriving from Dekalb Avenue. Our monthly MeetUps (the last Saturday of the month) start about 6:30 - 7 PM and the first hour is usually devoted to just socializing and grazing on the Pot Luck Buffet at7 PM (Guests are encouraged to bring something to pass).Everyone brings their own beverages, malt beverages such as beer and wine coolers, and wine are allowed, but no hard liquor please. The Rush Center is a non-smoking facility, but there is easy access to outside if you must have one. We usually start out with a simple card game (31) which involves four quarters, not a lot of thinking and easy to play.and is a good way to socialize and get to know others in the group. Then we break up into smaller groups for games of your choice some of which include, Apples to Apples, Cranium, Scatergories, Mexican Train Dominoes, Ticket To Ride and many others. The groups usually consists of 40 - 50 people total. It is a great way to meet others that share a love for the same games as you and to set up games in homes for smaller groups with people you have common interests with. It is a good mix of younger, older, middle ages. Although we are specifically appealing to gay men and women, let me emphasize the 'AND FRIENDS" we welcome straight, bi, trans, all religions and ethnic groups. Gay Gamers of Atlanta has been active for over 7 years now and has a good nucleus of regulars that are welcoming and accepting of all new comers. See you there?

We are a group for Gay Males & Lesbian Women that enjoy interacting with other like minded friends for board and/or card games that has been active for over 6 years. And yes, we welcome trans people as well, I thought gay men and lesbian women pretty much covered all my bases, but I stand corrected. However if you are trans you do not have to necessarily be gay. But the bottom line is we welcome members of all communities that seek a friendly enviorment for socializing.

We hold monthly gatherings the last Saturday of each month at The Phillip Rush Center (North DeKalb Avenue, Atlanta. We get together to socialize, make new friends, play cards, board games, trivia etc. and a nice pot luck lunch. We ask for a monthly donation of $5 per month, but it is not mandatory, no one will ever make you feel uncomfortable or unwelcome if your not able to contribute one month, or unable to bring something for the pot luck. When times are tough, that is when you need a night out for some fun with friends.

You can also meet other people that enjoy the same games as you and set up smaller get togethers in homes. Although we are not meant to be a dating site, we have had people meet here that ended up in relationships.

The Rush Center does allow us to consume adult beverages (in moderation please) but everyone is requested to provide their own.

In the future we may organize full day outings or bus trips.

Maybe a camping weekend, devoted to gaming, this summer.

If you enjoy friendly competition, meeting new and interesting people, and have a positive attitude on life,,,you belong in this group.

Although the group was organized as a social event primarily for Gay men & women, everyone is welcome We welcome fun loving, accepting people or all persuasions.
