Learn Renaissance Rapier (fencing) or Medieval Heavy (Armored) Fighting

Most Sundays (in Golden Gate Park) the "Geary & Arguello - History, Art, and Science Geeks Collide” Meetup Group* gathers for Rapier (fencing) practice (starting at 1 pm) and heavy (armored) practice (starting at 2 pm). Loaner equipment is usually available for both activities.

HOWEVER, as fighter practices are sometimes cancelled due to large scheduled events in the park (the “Outside Lands” Concert, for one); bad weather; or sick event organizers, before trundling on down to 47th Avenue and Fulton Street (where the practices are held in the Park), check in with the “Cloondara Fighter Practice, Golden Gate Park” Facebook page:

* The "Geary & Arguello - History, Art, and Science Geeks Collide” Meetup Group is hosted by members of the Shire of Cloondara, the San Francisco chapter of the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism), a living history non-profit organization that seeks to promote pre-17th Century arts and sciences -- primarily (but, not exclusively) of the European Medieval and Renaissance eras.

The regularly scheduled, monthly activities of the "Geary & Arguello Geeks" Meetup Group are free of charge, and are led by volunteer-members of the SCA.

Please note that this is an established, pre-Meetup.com group, regularly attended by anywhere from 6 - 12 people. The number of Meetup.com R.S.V.P.'s does not accurately reflect numbers of attendees expected..
