December is so busy with holiday events (and yes, we'll have some), friends, family, and work that we run out of weekends for our Meetup group! In that spirit, I keep partying into January, because we all know what a party animal I am! Come celebrate with GGSD for one last holiday event.
This is a brunch potluck. I will have some food and mimosa fixin's. Y'all provide the rest of the food and drink. Please comment with what you'll bring (remember, I don't have a coffee maker!). Last year we had a huge spread and a grand time!
This event functions as both a holiday gathering and our first new member event for the new year. So, there will be a wide variety of folks, and we'd love to see you (yes, YOU) there! Part of the festivities will include a geeky gift exchange. Bring a small wrapped gift of $20 or less. It can be something you've made or something you've purchased, and we'll do a lot-drawing exchange. Try to make your gift something related to geekdom (though as we all know, that is very broad; use your best judgment). You are not required to participate in the gift exchange if you'd rather not, however YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PRESENT PRESENT TO PARTICIPATE.
I have a large tent set up for this event, but cannot guarantee the weather, so please be prepared for possibly chilly climes. Dress is casual to dressy, but being outside may necessitate a sweater. There should be heat available, but I cannot vouch for outdoor conditions.
My house is in a commercial district, so parking is generally plentiful. You can park in the Notary lot next door to my house or on the street, but please do not park in my complex's lot area. If you need carpooling options or a pick up from the trolley, that can be arranged as well; just contact me and I'll set something up.
This is a new member and a holiday event, so I would prefer to keep this ladies only. We all want to get to know each other, though you are welcome to bring as many female friends as you'd like (just be sure to let me know how many to expect). I cannot accommodate small children or pets at my house. We have lots of dangerous toys, and I don't want anyone to get hurt. Thank you for understanding.
I am looking forward to meeting you all, as well as seeing some familiar faces!
Happy holidays to you and yours and much geekiness in 2014!
