Play Munchkin

Hello Geeks and Geekets,

I figure the Weaton mall is a good spot to play. It has easy access to the red line metro and has the food court right there. Unless someone can sugest a better venue im game.

Heres a brief summary of Munchkin;

The goal of Munchkin is to reach level 10 (or level 20 in an "Epic" Level game). Every player starts as a "level 1 human with no class (Heh, heh)" and has to earn levels by killing monsters or other means. Other means include selling a thousand gold pieces worth of items, or playing "go up a level" cards. A typical game runs for around an hour.

      I assumed it was the food court. I can bring Castle Panic. That takes almost exactly an hour to run through no matter how many people play. I played it with two first-timers on Sunday and it went the fastest ever (possibly because they figured out the strategy almost immediately).

    Maybe we expand to table top games or a genre? I think people may be hesitant if its just munchkin + where in wheaton mall?

    I feel like you should place two warning disclaimers on this event. 1) a typical game of munchkin is always longer than an hour and can take up to three. 2) If you've never played munchkin please be aware that this game is not "typical" of most games. This game is not for everyone. Many people will play it and love it. Many will actively despise it. If you enjoy screw your neighbor mechanics this is a great game. If you do not, you will not enjoy this game.

      http://www.youtube.co... But if you're concerned about people not knowing what they're getting into, then watch this video of game creator Steve Jackson playing the game on Tabletop.

      It depends on the groups skill level, how many people are playing and how cards come up that can affect game time.
