What we're about

Geekz United is a group for everyone!

It's a group for all flavours of geeks; for anyone who's ever had a discussion about who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman, about who the best Buffy character is, about how Han shot first, or about which one of Hayao Miyazaki's movies was his best.

It's a group for people who want to try new things; whether they're looking for new board games to play or new places to play them, an evening out on the town at a new restaurant followed a movie and discussion (or booze), or a wine tour in Niagara.

It's a group for anyone living in the GTA; we're always looking for event suggestions of all types (particularly for locations outside of the downtown core) as we plan to hold regular events in all parts of the city to cater to the interests of our members.

It's a group for you.

Our primary rule will be strictly enforced: we have a zero tolerance policy for abusive or derogatory behavior towards others.

Please report any abusive behaviour to the the identified host during the event, or to one of the Geekz United administrators afterward.

Board game night - Toronto

Raiders eSports Center

It's official...we have moved boardgame night to RAIDERS FULL TIME! From now all our Toronto boardgame nights on Tuesdays will take place at raiders. Raiders is now called THE HIVE, but the address is the same. As usual, we would encourage you to buy dinner or drinks at the venue, as they are providing their space to us for free. But if you can't, we understand. Do try. Consolidating locations makes our game nights more predictable, it's not as loud, and we don't have to stress about finding space for our group. We hope you're as happy about this as we are!

Big Board Game Night!!!!

Location visible to members

RSVP will be opened once the game has been decided. The venue has a cover of 5.95 + tax per person and includes a $4 drink or frozen yogurt credit. This week's game will be: ************Open Game Night************* At this event we will be choosing a single longer bigger board game to play for the evening. The attendance limit will be determined by the max number of players and will be first come first serve with a waitlist. I do ask that if you cannot make it to the event to please change your RSVP no if it was yes even if you are just on the wait list, so that we can make sure to get the most players out for this event. ****************************ATTENDANCE POLICY CHANGE**************************** I will be taking attendance for this event. If you do not come to the event and are RSVP'ed yes you will be marked as a no show. At this event in the future those without no shows will get priority over those with for attending the event. as this event has very limited space usually. please be aware of this change

Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League (Tier 3, chars level 11-16) @ 3 Kingdoms!

Okay Adventurers it's time to play some D&D! Geekz United is proud to present a weekly Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer's League event. We'll be hosting this event at Three Kingdoms Toronto location, near Yonge and Eglinton every Thursday. There are three separate Meetups for this event as we'll be running tables for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. This Meetup is for Tier 3 (characters level 11-16) Adventurers League Players. If you're new to 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons, or new to Adventurer's League, check out our Tier 1 Meetup event. We are playing though Season 8 of Adventurers League: Waterdeep, mixed in with other adventures. This means that while there will be an ongoing story, players can drop in and out from session to session without any problems. This venue has a cover charge of $5 per player; full disclosure, $1 from each cover charge goes back to the DM of the table as store credit. We use channel the money back in the adventures. Although the venue does have a small selection of candy, chips and drinks (which we encourage you to buy to support out hosts), outside food is allowed at this venue so feel free to grab dinner from one of the many nearby restaurants and bring it with you. All you need to bring is yourself, your character, and your dice (and we can even lend you the dice).

Dungeons & Dragons Adventurers League (Tier 1, chars level 1-4) @ 3 Kingdoms!

Okay Adventurers it's time to play some D&D! Geekz United is proud to present a weekly Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer's League event. We'll be hosting this event at Three Kingdoms Toronto location, near Yonge and Eglington every Thursday. There are two separate Meetups for this event as we'll be running tables for both Tier 1 and Tier 2. This Meetup is for newer adventurers, and will be running lower-level adventures (Tier 1 - for characters levels 1-4). What's D&D Adventurer's League (DDAL)? It's the official "organized play" league for 5th edition Dungeon's & Dragons. Basically stores all over the world run DDAL games, and you can take your character to any of them and have the same great experience. In DDAL, you build your character starting from level 1 by playing DDAL legal modules (including hardcover adventures). For more information, including on how to build a legal character, please refer to the player's guide: https://www.dmsguild.com/product/208178/DD-Adventurers-League-Player--DM-Pack https://media.wizards.com/2018/dnd/downloads/DnD_BasicRules_2018.pdf But if this all seems like too much, don't worry, we're here to help. We'll have ready-made characters you can try out, quick lessons on how to play and you might even be able to borrow some of those funny dice we use if you want to "try before you buy". This venue has a cover charge of $5 per player; full disclosure, $1 from each cover charge goes back to the DM of the table as store credit. We channel the money back in to the adventures. Although the venue does have a small selection of candy, chips and drinks (which we encourage you to buy to support out hosts), outside food is allowed at this venue so feel free to grab dinner from one of the many nearby restaurants and bring it with you.
