I've been teaching meditation for decades and what I so often hear from beginners is that they don't think they are capable of meditating because they can't stop thinking. Meditation is not about completely eliminating all thoughts. Instead, it's about decreasing your thoughts in a way that will have you experience more focus, calm and peace. That means that you can do it! Meditation allows you to observe your inner and outer world and when this happens, your senses are enhanced. Being present to oneself in the midst of nature is an energizing, exhilarating and healthy way to soothe one's soul. No experience is necessary!
