What we're about
The Geographical Society of Philadelphia (GEO) promotes a better understanding of the world we live in--its people, places and perspectives--through thought-provoking programs on travel, geography, science, history, and culture. Founded in 1891, GEO is one of Philadelphia's oldest and most-prestigious organizations, having sponsored renowned explorers like Theodore Roosevelt, John Glenn, Jacques Cousteau, and Robert E. Peary. Today, GEO honors its proud legacy through our series of events and invites you to join us as we continue to explore the world.
Events in our Marco Polo Networking Nights, Travel Junkies, and Border Crossings series span the calendar, so check back often to see and experience the world in new ways.
