Trail Description: We'll meet at Pierce Mill Rock Creek Park, hike to Boundary Bridge and back for about an 8 mile hike. Afterwards we'll eat lunch at Bistrot Du Coin north of DuPont Circle a block away from the Washington Hilton Hotel. Bistrot Du Coin, 1738 Connecticut Ave., Washington, DC is one of a hand full of real deal French cuisine & authentic French experience restaurants in DC.
Trail Notes: Basically a combination of paved path and dirt trail. A few hills. Nice views along Rock Creek. Over all a moderate hike. High possibility of spotting deer and other small wild life. As compared to the south half of Rock Creek Park the northern section is more woody and leafy. One could easily treat this trail as a sneaker hike, a docksider hike or use hiking shoes depending on personal preferences and needs.
Trail Parking: Parking lot at Pierce Mill if government is open. Otherwise parking is available along Tilden St NW and surrounding neighborhood side streets. Few parking restrictions in DC on Sundays.
Restaurant Parking: Plenty available along side residential streets surrounding restaurant. Few parking restrictions on Sundays in DC.
What to Bring: Bottle of water, hiking shoes if needed and other desired gear depending on personal needs. Take plenty of pictures.
