Georgia Conservancy's Cumberland Island Movie Night at REI

Lights, camera, action! Cumberland Island Movie Night is December 3rd!

Join the Georgia Conservancy and REI as we take a trip through the ages (and across the most beautiful barrier island in Georgia) -- without leaving metro Atlanta.

For the 4th year in a row, we are screening Cumberland: Island in Time at the Cumberland Island Movie Night at REI Atlanta on Monday, December 3rd starting at 6 p.m.

Bill Vanderkloot, Atlanta cinematographer and director of Cumberland, will introduce the film. Joining Vanderkloot in the discussion of Cumberland Island will be Charles Seabrook, author of Cumberland Island: Strong Women, Wild Horses. Seabrook will share with us the intimate details of his research on Cumberland Island and speak about the island’s African-American history.

Copies of Seabrook’s new book, The World of The Salt Marsh, will be on-sale during the evening.

Cumberland Island Movie Night corresponds with our Cumberland Island Service Weekend during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday weekend.

Click here to learn more about the trip or to reserve your spot!

REI and Georgia Conservancy staff will answer questions about visiting Cumberland Island on your own and about upcoming trips to places like the Len Foote Hike Inn, Altamaha River and Ossabaw Island.
