How do you Get Your Climb On?

Indoor climbing, member at City Beach...

When did you first begin climbing? What is your level? What is your favorite type of climbing? Best place you ever climbed?

Started climbing when I was 14 at Carderock Park in Maryland. Climbed at Seneca Rocks in West Virginia, climbed Sugar Loaf Mt. in Rio de Janeiro. Working on some 5.10d indoor routes, sometimes successful!

What does Safe climbing mean to you?

Paying attention! Learning and practicing proper procedures. Not being afraid to ask dumb questions. If something feels wrong, it probably is, so ask! Not making assumptions, check, check again, and double check what I've done, and what my climbing partners have done. Communicate properly with my climbing partners. Keep an open mind and be willing to learn. Be mindful and aware of everything going on around me.

By joining GYCO this confirms you accept & assume all responsibility & risks that could occur in climbing that you voluntarily release, forever discharge & agree to not hold harmless GYCO or any of its Organizers from any & all claims while in GYCO.

I do...

Introduction

Returning to climbing after many years, mostly indoor climbing now, but looking forward to returning to some outdoor climbing.
