Who are we?

This used to be the Wool and the Gang knitting group, but when it was going to close down we (London Craft Club) stepped up as organiser. I run a few craft Meetups (London Craft Club and the Paper Craft Club) so if you like other crafts check them out too.  We're a social enterprise, and our purpose is to busy Londoners uncover their creative talents. Sonia is the founder - she organises and hosts pretty much all the events. Hannah looks after our event schedule, social media and papercraft needs, and we have an army of craft teachers and experts who help us too.

Who comes to London Craft Club Meetups?

Our Meetup members vary from people who've never knitted before but want to get started, to people who are already great at knitting but might like to share skills and learn new crafts.

What kind of Meetups do we hold?

Craft and Coffee are our crafternoon meetups in cafes around central London, usually on a Saturday afternoon. Anyone is welcome to come along and share coffee and chat over a bit of gentle craft. Bring something you're working on or have a go at the little project we bring along. We don't charge for these, but we do ask you to show your appreciation to our cafe hosts by indulging in a bit of cake and coffee!

Craft in the Pub is our latest meetup - exactly the same as the Craft and Coffee but in a pub on weeknight instead! We often knit, share skills or just have a drink. They're not exactly rowdy events but there's usually a lot of enthusiasm for chat! We're still looking for the ideal venue so suggestions are welcome

Craft Workshops are what we're best at! We invite craft experts to lead workshops sharing their skills, and invite our members to attend. All our events are suitable for totally beginners or more experienced crafters, and we make sure you create a finished piece by the end to take home. We’ll teach you all the skills you need to create something beautiful, and supply all the materials as well as refreshments to keep your crafty energy up! We'll bring you fun and fast knit projects to whet your appetite for more..

Do we charge for our Meetups?

We don't charge for our Craft and Coffee or Craft in the Pub events, but we do charge quite a lot for our Craft Workshops. That's because we like to pay our craft teachers properly, get a great venue, supply top quality materials and equipment and make sure you have a generally awesome time. We do all the planning and prep, so there's no need to prepare anything at all. Rock up empty handed and leave with a finished item and a tons of new skills, with new crafty mates to boot.

We hope to meet you soon!

Sonia and everyone at London Craft Club

Get your make on at at Wool and the Gang Knit party near you! All of our parties are suitable for knitting newbies as well as knit pros, and are hosted by one of our WATG hosts. Bring your own Gang or come along and make new pals.
