BIKE SKILLS CLINICS AT BELMAR PARK
Hi! My name is Hollis and I am a member of "Women's Get Back in Shape" meetup. I am offering free Bicycle Skills Clinics for this Meetup group which will be Thurs. July 24 and Thurs. July 31 at 9:00 am. I have been trained by the Whistler based Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Program (PMBIA.org (http://pmbia.org/)).
To attain my full certification, I need to teach cyclists at various levels. In addition, I have a fully certified PMBI Level 1 Instructor to supervise & assist me. Using modern biking theory and adaptive progressions, our sessions can benefit anyone riding non-technical pavements to off-road single-track trails.
So please join me Thursdays, July 24th &/or 31st at 9am for a Bike Skills Clinic. We will work on fundamental cycling skills (Body Positioning, Gears & Braking), which is essential for both road & mountain cyclists.
There will be plenty of riding with a lot of progression drills. We will ride around the park on suitable terrain appropriate to the participants and our skill objectives. Mileage would be around 3 to 5 miles plus mileage during progression. The fitness component will be there as different muscle groups will be utilized for proper cycling technique.
In addition, we will work on mechanical issues like, changing a flat tire on the ride. I will be bringing 2 extra tires to let people practice changing a flat tire. People can also practice on their own tires if they desire.
Bike Skills/Riding: Between 1.5-2 hoursTire Repair Clinic: 15-20minutes (with practice time allotted)
