Disclaimer #1 - Since this hike is rated as a strenuous hike, all hikers are going to start on the wait list until I can verify the hiking experience of all hikers on the wait list. Those hikers, who have not hiked with me, will need to answer the following questions.
1. How often do you hike?
2. What strenuous hikes have you done?
3. When and what was the last strenuous hike that you completed?
The answers to these questions can be sent to me via Meetup messages or via email at [masked]. New hikers have one week to answer these questions. Failure to answer these questions within one week will move the hikers from the wait list to NOT GOING.
Hike Details - This is the last in the series of exploratory hikes for the month of August. We are going to meet shortly before 8:00 AM at the Fontaine Research Park to form carpools to the trailhead located on Saddle Ridge Road. We are going to start the hike by hiking up to the saddle between Little House and Big House Mountains. This is going to be two out and back hikes up to Little House Mountain and Big House Mountain. We will first make the climb up to the summit of Little House Mountain. After reaching the summit of Little House Mountain and taking a whole lot of pictures, we will retrace our steps back down to the saddle between Little House and Big House Mountains. We will then make the climb up to the summit of Big House Mountain. From the summit of Big House Mountain, we will have more expansive views and more photo opportunities. We will retrace our steps back to the saddle, and will retrace our steps back to our cars. Please make sure to review the hike link below before signing up for this hike.
What to Bring - Broken in hiking boots, trekking poles, lunch and snacks, 3 to 5 liters of water/propel water depending on the weather, moisture wicking clothing, camera/phone, a good day pack, first aid kit
As is tradition with my hikes, there will be an optional post hike at a local restaurant or brewery. Carpools can be arranged accordingly for those who wish to partake in the post hike.
