  • REPOST: Un Official End of Season "Longboard Run" 5th Year
REPOST. This event is a repost from a facebook event. Please join the facebook event to stay updated: https://www.facebook.com/events/2177121088964741/ Greetings Long board friends, Skaters, and e boarders, Please feel free to join me on Sunday: November 4th, 2018, at 12:30 pm, at the corner of Emmons Avenue & Brigham Street, Brooklyn, New York, to have one good last, before it gets too cold to skate, Long board Run. Not that the cold weather would ever stop you from skating, but you get my drift.....Anyways, this will be a 9 mile run on one of the smoothest bike paths in the city. It will be a mostly flat surface with a few drops to give you a little Down Hill feeling, but nothing intimidating. Please note, this is not a race. You may skate at your own pace and will take approximately 3 hours or less to complete, if you do the entire 18 miles. However, it all depends on how good of shape you're in. Its 9 miles from the Emmons Avenue entrance up to the 84th Street ending and 9 miles back. The route is scenic, and runs through a Wild Life refuge, so please bring a camera to take pictures. If you're going to join me, all I ask, is that you bring a bottled water and a few power bars and that you're respectful to others, especially bikers and joggers. Also, be smart, skate safe and wear a helmet. Helmets are optional but why not protect your brain case? Directions to location. By Train: Take the NYC MTA: B or Q train to the Sheeps head Bay Stop in Brooklyn, NY. Once there, skate down South West along Sheepshead Bay Blvd., until you get to Emmons Avenue. From there make a Left onto Emmons Avenue and skate west towards Brigham Street. Please use the designated bike route, and be attentive to your surroundings and careful of any cars or buses.
