Intro to HTML5 & CSS3

Learn about some of the new functionality in HTML5 and CSS3 and how it can help you build better websites.

This class is targeted at beginner and intermediate levels.

Prerequisites: basic understanding of HTML & CSS

This is a one day workshop on Saturday, May 31st. The class runs from 12:45pm-4:30pm. Please be sure to arrive on time, so you are able to get set up and ready. Class will start promptly at 1pm.

Please be sure to eat lunch beforehand. We will have some small snacks available for breaks, but will not be breaking for a meal.

Students are required to bring their own laptop for classes. If you do not have a laptop, please contact us at [masked] before registering, and we’ll see if we can work something out.

If you are interested in attending, but cannot afford the full class cost, please fill out our scholarship form.

Please review Girl Develop It's Code of Conduct for our events.

Parking is available in the front lot of the Pair Networks building.  Please ask for a temporary parking pass when you arrive and place it on your dashboard.  One of the GDI organizers will have them at the front entrance.

Workshop preparation:

Please ensure you have the following installed on your machine prior to class:

A modern browser (we recommend Chrome)

A text editor you feel comfortable using to edit HTML & CSS (we recommend Sublime Text)

Thank you to Pair Networks for sharing their space with us for this event!

How will the parking situation work? I know Pair Networks has large parking lot in front of their building but the owners are a bit tow happy since it's in the South Side. Will attendees be able to park in the lot or should they rely on street parking?

They allowed us to park in the front lot last time. I believe the same applies this time, but I'll double-check with them just to be sure.

I added a note in the meetup description about parking. You will be able to park in the lot and they'll provide us with passes.
