If you are editing files, building a website, or creating an application, version control is like a super-charged save button. You can save different versions of your files and move backwards or forwards in time through your code base.

Version control can be a powerful tool when working on a project and is helpful when collaborating between developers.

This talk will briefly discuss the benefits of Git and version control and how to get started. We will also discuss GitHub and other alternatives, such as Bitbucket, that allow you to host your files and collaborate.

Bring your questions. Laptop not required, but might be useful for trying things out during the talk.

We'll send out git setup instructions prior to the meetup and encourage you to attend the following Code & Coffee event to get help and experiment with the tools.

Food and beverages will be provided courtesy of Manpower.
