Over the past six months, we've covered a bit of HTML and CSS, some design concepts, and even a bit of JavaScript. Now it's time to piece it all together! In the final workshop of our Front End Series, we will build and deploy a live portfolio/"About Me" website together!

This class will meet for two 5-hour sessions. Both sessions are covered in the $90 class fee, as well as a special exclusive offer for your personalized domain and web hosting, via SiteGround (https://www.siteground.com/)!

Class 1: June 3rd, 11AM to 4PM

We will recap some of the concepts needed to build a simple website, and provide a template to help you get started. Our teacher will be there to lead the way, and our friendly team of TAs will be available to help you too!

Class 2: June 4th, 11AM to 4PM

By the end of Day 2, you will walk away with a live website that you can continue improving upon! Be sure to put this one on your resume and show off what you can do!

Prerequisites -

Familiarity with HTML and CSS.

What to Bring -

Please bring a laptop and charger to class. Power outlets and wifi will be provided. You may also wish to bring a notepad and pen/pencil for taking notes.

Since we will be building our own portfolio sites, its strongly recommended to work on your content in advance (about me, photos you want to include, references to your work, etc.) that you want featured on your site. This will allow you to focus on the building stage during your class time.

We'll be using a modern web browser and a text editor in class. If you don't already have these installed, please install them before you come to class.

For web browsers, we recommend Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. For a text editor, we recommend Sublime Text 2. Note that you do not have to purchase Sublime Text 2. If you download the free evaluation version that will be good enough for class.
