JS 302: Intro to Backbone

  • Apr 27, 2014 · 11:45 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

This workshop is an introduction to Backbone.js, a popular front-end javascript library for creating dynamic, interactive web interfaces. It will be co-taught by Pamela Fox and Brenda Jin, and will include lunch.

We'll cover Backbone.JS Models, Views, Events, and CRUD, with hands-on exercises throughout. As a prerequisite, you should feel comfortable with JavaScript/jQuery and hopefully have attended our JS MVC/OO workshops.

If you're interested in helping out as a teaching assistant, please let us know.

Many thanks to our sponsor Adobe for the wonderful space.

If you'd like to attend but cannot afford the cost, please request a GDI scholarship.

Please note that we cannot issue refunds, since there's an overhead to issuing refunds via Meetup.com and we already offer the workshops at such a low-cost. We put proceeds into the chapter fund, which we use as our scholarship fund.

Great class. I learned a lot. The presentation of the material was well structured between lectures and exercises. Both the instructors and the TAs were very knowledgeable. The TAs approached us during the exercises and asked if we needed help. I also enjoyed the company of all that attended. Everyone was very friendly and I had some lively discussions. Thank you for a nice day.
