Whether you're new to the Portland area, like myself, or just hoping to make new connections with other genuine, like-minded women, Girlfriend Connection of Portland is the group for you! This group is for women in their twenties to forties who are interested in meeting new people, having a great time, and making lasting friendships. I believe the best way of getting to know someone is by conversation, so some of the activities you can expect with this group will allow for that. We will get to know each other over happy hour cocktails, going to brunch, visiting wineries and having wine tastings, head outside for hikes or visit a farmer's market - the possibilities are really endless!
I recently discovered the blues dancing scene in Portland and I must say - I am absolutely hooked!
I don't know about you ladies, but dancing brings me so much joy and I'm determined to do more of it!
Step out of your comfort zone and try something new like blues dancing with me this next week at the Bossanova Ballroom on East Burn!
There is a beginner lesson (upstairs) from 7:30-8:30 and then its open dance from there. People of all dance backgrounds (no experience required) are welcome! No need for fancy clothes, special shoes, or even a dance partner!
To me, blues dancing is a mesh of some of my favorite styles of dance (salsa, bachata, swing) but more free form and to the most delicious music.
Yes, clearly I am a big fan - ha!
Entry is $8 but they are also doing this cool new thing where if you can't afford that for whatever reason, then you don't have to pay an entry fee. They want everyone to have an opportunity to learn to dance.
There is a full bar there and water bottles can not be brought in but they have free water stations to keep you plenty hydrated!
