Details

Stonehouse Session No.21 will again be held in the lovely converted church/home of our young hosts, Anca and Quintin.

PERFORMERS;
The Telemann Ensemble = Musicians and choral group
Phil Gault - Baritone
Jessica Kerr and Quintin - Cellists
(Les - Harpsichord)

PERFORMANCE:
This first session of 2019 will feature the Telemann Ensemble, Glasgow's finest baroque ensemble, now in its 42nd year and fresh from its first international tour to Madrid. Their performance last year was one of the highlights of the series with just over 60 people, including performers, crammed in. This year they will be joined by outstanding baritone Phil Gault, a stalwart performer of last season's series in a performance of Bach's Cantata "Ich habe genug", which has one of Bach's most haunting arias as an opening. We will also be treated to a performance of Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Cellos in g-minor with Jessica Kerr (SCO, BBCSSO etc) and Quintin stepping up from his usual place as continuo beside Les on the Harpsichord.
Magnus Walker sadly won't be able to join us anymore but we will also have works by Telemann and Handel.

Complimentary fizz and nibbles available from 2.30 pm.
Performance begins 3 pm.
A lift may be available from outside the Thai 0rchid on ARGYLE STREET, Glasgow around 1.40 pm, if requested.

ENTRY CHARGE: By donation plate for Hospices of Hope and charities selected by the performers - Suggested donation £10
