What we're about

Global Harmonies provides workshops to promote transformation on a personal, community and global level. This is done by providing spaces for people to singing and use their voices in a way that is non-judgemental, that recognises that singing is a fundamental part of the human experience and that is has huge physical, emotional, mental and spiritual benefits. Harmony songs and chants from around the world are used, as well as other practices such as humming, toning (making vocal sounds for longer than usual e.g. vowel sounds, laughter sounds, groaning sounds), chant, improvisation, body percussion and more. Most workshops involve some body work, breathing exercises, movement and sitting in stillness, but mainly having fun singing harmony songs from around the world.

Forest Song Bath: Singing in the Forest

Newtown Mount Kennedy

WHAT IS IT?
Inspired by forest bathing, we will take a slow walk through the forest, stopping periodically to sing nature songs, tree songs, earth songs and river songs from various cultures. At the end we will form a circle in a clearing by the river, enjoy some tea and sing a bit more! A great way to combine the health and wellbeing benefits of singing and forest bathing, both of which reduce stress, boost the immune system, energise and basically fill you full of endorphins and good vibes.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS HAVE SAID
"For me the workshop was a historical moment and a celebration: meeting in person for the first time after seeing life through a screen. Not only was I physically connected with the singers but I felt at one with the riches of the woods. My whole experience of the forest through the senses enabled me sing in an effortless way" Sinéad MacDevitt

LOCATION
Takes place a few mins walk from the centre of Newtownmountkennedy, which is near the N11 and served by bus.
