Cover Toronto Blanket Run

With the wind chill in Toronto already making it feel like -30ºC — and an extreme cold alert in effect — the city is facing at least another couple of days in the deep freeze.

At these temperatures exposed skin could be subject to frostbite in as little as 10 minutes. For those living on the street it's going to be like living in a giant freezer for the next few days.

The plan is to head out tomorrow night at 7:00 PM. We'll meetup at Yonge-Dundas square and go from there in my car. I'll be parked outside Hard Rock cafe in a Silver Buick or Black Scion.

Thankfully not too many people were sleeping on the streets, but we met a few grateful souls, had some good chats, and provided extra layers to help fend off frostbite for those who needed it. I'm thinking Sunday afternoon for the next one, only this time we'll walk instead of drive.

Thanks Stephen, Alex, and Sandy. I was happy to spend the evening with you playing detectives in the city, looking for people and places. Also enjoyed our lovely conversation about some difficult topics. Thanks Stephen for your excellent leadership. You do have magic talking to different people in a way that makes them trust you and accept your help. I've learned a lot tonight. Great job everyone! Thanks, N

thank you Stephen. I have a blanket and a warm winter coat I'd like to bring tomorrow. Will you be driving down Jarvis by any chance? If so, I'd appreciate a ride. I'm at Jarvis and Carlton. If not, not a problem - i'll see you at Dundas Square at 7...looking forward
