GlobalNet21 is collaborating with Playback Theatre around an event where we can talk about refugees, share feelings, exchange stories and experiences on the refugee crisis and how it effects us.
London Playback Theatre Company is a team of internationally experienced professional theatre practitioners, consultants, educators, and therapists.
The large movements of population as a result of the conflicts in the Middle East has touched everyone and what we want to do is explore our feelings about it with the help of theatre
Let's talk about what moves us, challenges us, touches us, angers us, about what is happening right now in the world around us and nearer and nearer. And if you just want to come and listen and watch you are most welcome too.
This will be a session where the audience can express their views and the actors respond to it. It is an innovative approach to discussion, dialogue and learning and we welcome this collaboration.
There will be space for people to network as well, have a coffee or maybe even a glass of wine and get to know each other and carry on the discussion informally. We will also try to collect some digital stories during this networking time and we will use these to develop some online follow up activities.
London Playback Theatre Company works with audiences in the telling and re-playing of their stories. They offer performances and workshops, which provide a safe space for individual voices to be heard and collective themes to emerge. Through the spontaneity and vibrancy of improvisational techniques, they create theatre, which engages audiences – body, mind and spirit. Their work offers opportunities for participants to deepen their understanding of each other and to develop authentic ways of communicating. They honour the multiplicity of voices in any group or context.
This will be a lively and creative precursor to out meeting on December 1st in the House of Commons where we discuss with MPs and others "How should Europeans respond to the Global Refugee Crisis?" (http://www.meetup.com/GlobalNet21/events/225420419/)
