GlobalNet21 Newsletter.

Dear All,

It is hard to believe that another year has gone by so quickly and the start of 2011 is upon us!

It has yet again been another very busy and productive year for the GlobalNet21 Network , so I would like to quickly go through new developments and plans for the year ahead.

As many of you know (through some very successful and often amusing test runs) that we have now introduced webinars as part of our line up of events. Whilst these still need a little fine tuning, they have generally been very popular and becoming even more so as the months roll on. We are aiming to broaden these next year by introducing more presentations/discussions from speakers and participants globally. We have also recently offered people within the network the opportunity to be trained and run a webinar around various issues. So if you have an idea, would like to run your own webinar, and your idea is within the GlobalNet21 aims, then do get in contact with us to discuss further.

New Year launch of GlobalNet21 Study Nexus.
The beginning of next year will also see the official launch of our online e learning site GlobalNet21 Study Nexus (which we have been developing for the last year). We will have some free courses on there that everyone can access. One of the first will be our lottery project on Education and Inclusion, where you will be able to access reports/ information and video interviews from various schools/ students and teachers. You will also be able to access a short public awareness course on Human Trafficking, and also a short introduction on how to run your own webinar. We will be adding more online courses and awareness programs as the year proceeds.

Future Campaigns.
We have recently piloted a small campaign around Child Trafficking and Public Awareness as we would like to be able to raise enough funds to develop an ongoing program where we are able to add important material/reports and contacts as part of an ongoing global public awareness program. We have recently set up a facebook page on Child Trafficking and Awareness, also we have launched the campaign on Indigogo, so it would be really great if you could help support us in this http://www.indiegogo....

Jobs and Volunteer Forum.
I would like to run through everyone the idea of placing a jobs forum and also a volunteers forum on our main meetup site .This would be for members of GlobalNet21 who run Social enterprises/ organisations to post vacancies they may have, or know about, and for members to post what positions they may be looking for or vacancies they may know about. The volunteers forum would be for members to either post what help they are looking for and also for members to post in areas they would be willing to volunteer. This is not in any way exclusive to seeking volunteers for GlobalNet21, but indeed to connect various volunteers and organisations within the network.

GlobalNet21 Skills Exchange And Time bank.
Over the last several years we have had many people join the network and they bring with them a whole host of ideas, knowledge and skills. We have started discussions around setting up a learning exchange within our network. Global because many from our network ( particularly from LinkedIn) come from outside the UK. Many people have expressed any interest in developing such an exchange and we hope to pilot this in the new year. Indeed on January 20th we are holding a small and informal meeting where people can discuss this, fill in the learning exchange questionnaire and maybe even begin exchanging!. If you are interested in attending this then please let us know.

Volunteers we are seeking...
