This is a group for ladies of all ages who wish to meet new people and make new friends. I mainly concentrate on organising lunchtime meetups on a Saturday. All the meetups I arrange will be in central Cheltenham. My Assistant Organisers, Dom and Chantal, do a fantastic job of creating events covering a wide variety of interests, mainly in Cheltenham but occasionally further afield. Anyone can be an event organiser, even if it's just for a one-off event so if anyone has any ideas for future meetups and would be prepared to organise and host the occasional event, don't be shy. I need your input and some willing volunteers...let's start filling our calendar!
If privacy is important to you, please note that your name and profile photo is only visible to other members of this group. You do not have to divulge your surname when joining this group. However, please do provide your real name and not some nickname or user name that you might use on other websites. A profile photo of you rather than some random picture is helpful too so that we can look out for you when you venture out to your first Meetup event.
I currently pay $90 every six months to Meetup.com to run this group which roughly equates to £70 half yearly plus conversion charges. The organiser fees are due on 1 November and 1 May each year. I will ask you to make a contribution of £2 every six months. This can either be paid in cash or cheque to me by the end of October or April each year or direct to my bank (details on request).
If there is a waitlist for an event, priority will be given to members who are up to date with their membership dues unless you have only recently joined the group and not had the chance to attend a Meetup yet. If you miss two consecutive due dates for subs (i.e. if you joined the group during May to October but have not made any contribution by 30 April the following year), I reserve the right to remove you from the group.
I appreciate that we all have busy lives and finances can be tight so you might not be able to attend events on a regular basis. However, if your account is dormant for over 3 months (in other words, you haven't logged into the website for over 3 months), I will assume that you no longer wish to be a member and you will be removed from the group. Obviously, I won't remove any members that are up to date with their membership dues.
Sometimes everyday life just gets in the way of other interests so please feel free to rejoin at any time. My main reason for removing inactive members is to try and give new and existing members a better idea of how many active members are in the group. Also, Meetup has recently introduced a new scale of charges based on the number of members in a group so I need to ensure that the group membership is not being inflated by a large number of inactive members.
