Coeliac Xmas (Mini)-Fair in South London

  • Nov 23, 2013 · 3:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This event is actually organised by Coeliac UK, so it should be pretty safe.

There will be stalls from Juvela, Warburtons, Perkier Foods, GFF, The Italian Corner plus many more, a dietician to answer your questions, a GF cafe, raffle and Mr & Mrs Santa handing out GF goodies!

Highly recommended by members of our group who went there last year: apparently it's small (compared to other Christmas fairs) but worth it.

Entry: £2 for adults

Only one negative thing: the chocolate that was given with the lottery i expected and was told that was gluten free but when i came back home and i wanted to try it i checked on the back and it said it may contain gluten! Disappointing

I've found that the majority of chocolate is potentially x-contaminated. The biggest online chocolate store chocolate trading company has only something like 20% of its range as gf. I've written to many producers to query their status and only the bean to bar makers tend to be gf. That still leaves lots of nice choices thankfully

Hi All, I volunteered at the cafe on the fair. I thought it went really well. Glutafin and Barkat have out free sample bags. Juvella gave out free white bread. All stands we're helpful, willing to chat and give advice. There was an Italian restaurant from Abbey Mills that was selling gluten and lactose free pizza. They also sold gluten free pasta in their restaurant. I can't remember the name of the restaurant but I'm sure you can google it. All proceeds raised from the fair went to Ceoliac UK. There was also doughnuts stall, perkier foods, a tombola, warbitians and Christine's puds.

Thanks for the info. I regret missing the donuts! I think Stella told me they existed and piqued my interest in them

I didn't make it to this but if anyone that attended is willing to share what they found I'd really like to read it. I'm wondering in particular whether there were significant discounts on offer and also whether any of the non-commercial stuff was interesting? I've never been to a Coeliac UK organized event period so this will influence me for future.

Just signed in this meetup. It looks interesting for celiac and/or intolerant to gluten like me. I'll try to be there on Saturday wishing to see someone from this group!
