discuss the simplicity and spirituality of Go

On the 19th of february, 18:00, GoStockholm and Valtech will be hosting a Go meetup in the offices of Valtech at Hantverkargatan 5.

Scheduled talks:

Building the scalable high performance data storage god. A talk about planning and implementing a structured data storage inspired by redis and Chord/DHash, and what you can do with it once it's there.

Presentation

Simple design is not easy and easy design is not simple! A talk about the importance of simplicity, the important distinction between simple and easy and how simplicity is applied in Go.

  • Sofia Fröman: My first Go application

The journey from being Go-illiterate to designing a new ranking system for the National Weightlifting Association in Go.

In addition I am still discussing details with some potential surprise speakers. And, as usual, anyone with an interesting topic is welcome to contact me at [masked]!

Valtech are graciously providing the participants with sandwiches and beer, thus imposing an 18 year age limit on the proceedings.

I would have liked to see more Go specific context

@martin Ah, now I get it. meetup.com got this wrong. My comment was a feedback for the second talk, "simple vs easy". Now I see it was categorized as general "how was the meetup".

I will be putting up my presentation soon for anyone that is interested.

I got a question yesterday about the weightlifting association's interest in the liftit project. I got a reply today, a ranking database is exactly what they want! No mention of the company they hired for the more general database, but looks like liftit has a future :)

    Check out liftit: https://github.com/sfro/liftit

    Updates soon with documentation etc!

Really nice presentations! Do people have any other favorite projects in go? Would be nice to read a bit of excellent go code, to learn good practices and so on. :)
