What we're about

Never wakeboarded before but want to give it a go? Love wakeboarding but none of your friends owns a boat? Got a boat but you're keener than the rest of your crew? Enjoy our beautiful harbour and go wakeboarding or wakeskating or wakesurfing or even waterskiing if you really must! Learners welcome - all ages - loan gear available - all year round!

Upcoming events (1)

Wakeboarding saturday - Wairarapa (Ruamahanga River, transport available)

We'll be riding on the Ruamahanga River closer to the Lake Ferry end than to Martinborough. Usually we get better riding conditions than the harbour and for the delicate flowers among you the water is a little bit warmer :-)

Note - I've changed the location on this event to my home address so the event can be seen by Welly people in the Meetup search function!

BTW - river trips are great for beginners ;-) you'll get instruction, tips and encouragement and we're very chill, there is no clock ticking! Here's a guide I wrote a few years back https://www.meetup.com/Go-Wakeboarding-in-Windy-Wellington/messages/boards/thread/41744962

This is a whole day sort of thing unless you want to join/leave part way thru the day. Its a 90 minute (or so) drive to the river so you need to be on the road 8ish allowing for fuel stop, and stopping at the bakery on the way. Aiming to be on the river 10ish.

I can take 3 or 4 extra passengers in my truck. If you're catching a ride with me then you need to be at 16 Chilton Grove, Lower Hutt, by 8am ,or I can pick you up from Waterloo train station, or anywhere along the way.

If you don't have wheels post a comment/message to hitch a ride.
The boat ramp is at 737 East West Access Rd put it into your gps or maps (its in the middle of nowhere).

Cost? $50 should cover you ok for boat gas and chipping in towards towing the boat over the hill. Chip in extra $5 if you're borrowing gear (wakeboard/vest). I don't usually supply wetsuits, there are some manky old ones in my garage so ask if you need one.

RSVPing - just a reminder that when you rsvp you are making a commitment, and reserving a spot that could be taken by another member. I do understand that things crop up that you can't control - and that's OK. But late cancellations often go unfilled as people make alternative plans - so please keep that in mind when you rsvp.

Any Q's ask on here or txt[masked] or check the website. Cheers Terry
