March Madness #1 - Hillsboro 31 Miles Non-Stop

  • Feb 27, 2014 · 10:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

This Thursday 5 ride series is for the "can't talk too busy pedaling" types who do not like to take long breaks and can ride 15 mph on the flats.

Who will like this ride?  Those who have ridden with us, Ross and Jan, before and like our not too slow and not too fast style of group riding.  The fast riders will most definitely find us too slow and those who enjoy a leisurely pace will find us too fast.

The route is on familiar Western Washington County roads.

Pace:  On this first ride expect 13-15 mph on the flats.

Start Time: We leave at 10:00 AM sharp so please plan accordingly.  We honor those who arrange their schedule to be on time.

Distance: 31 miles

Hills: Fairly flat with  elevation gain of 688 feet.

Attitude: We will be moving along with no long breaks.

Traffic: Be comfortable riding around and in traffic.

Group Ride, but please be comfortable with continuous riding with no long breaks.

Ride Leaders: Jan Westfall[masked]  [masked] and  Ross Wrede  [masked][masked]-8895.  Please call or email with any questions.

Weather Cancellation Policy: We ride in rain showers but brutal cold, soupy fog or sideways rain will cancel.

Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request.

Always bring plenty of water, snacks for energy, a flat repair kit, including a spare tube.  A tool kit and small pump is good, but if you don’t have one there is usually someone on a group ride who does.  Carry a credit card and a little cash to buy refreshments.

Mandatory for all riders.

Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road.  Please represent us well.

All riders must have their rides in good working order and must bring a flat kit & spare tube on all rides. If there is an issue with proper working or lack of equipment you may be asked to sit the ride out. Please ask for help if you are ill equipped prior to the ride. We will try to help!

All riders must be able to change a flat should they have one or have a way to get picked up (AAA, a friend…). There is often but not always someone on the ride who knows how to help you change your tire so plan accordingly.

Note: Your RSVP signifies that you agree to the following. Organizers, event hosts and other participants will not be held responsible for any individual at any event. Each rider rides at their own risk and is solely responsible for any damage to their equipment or themselves.

Final Note: RSVP’s cannot include a +1 or Guest. If you choose to bring a friend or family member, they themselves must sign up as a member of NumBumz.
