The ride : A relatively short jaunt on what right now is forecast to be a cloudy, but dry evening. I don't know if OPH serves meatballs, but whatever. It's still a catchy title :)
Pat has kindly offered to co-host this as my new business's schedule may mean I can't join the fun.
We'll try to maintain a decent, but not crazy, pace. So looking at a minimum 13mph. I judge the actual pace by what I think everyone is capable of doing and staying together at the same time. I expect a pace of somewhere in the 13-15mph vicinity. Pretty comfortable for most folks. Very social, great for folks that haven't ridden with us before. Nobody gets dropped, ever.
I have one request. There will probably be a wait list and I don't mind adding 1 or 2, but please help me by managing your RSVP so that I can maximize the number of folks who want to ride. I know last-minute things happen and can't be avoided. The more I know (like texting "Hey JC I'm 50:50 because of work" the day before) lets me juggle things more effectively for everyone. Doesn't mean you're not riding. Works?

But without the loop around Kelley Point Park.
Start Location - Ride will start at OPH, post-ride social there.
Pace 13-15 mph
Distance 20 miles
Hills Flat. Fitness ½ Day - this should take 2 hours
Attitude Social – nobody gets dropped, we regroup at every turn
Traffic Low with bike paths and bike lanes mostly
Start Time – wheels rolling at 6pm – 5.45pm meet & greet – Call JC if running late[masked]-7644. We always leave on time, but will wait a minute or 2 if you've called to say that you're that close.
Ride leader contact information – Cell is[masked] or email [masked].
Rider requirements - Working lights are mandatory. Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request. Always bring plenty of water, snacks for energy, a flat repair kit, including a spare tube. A tool kit and small pump is good, but if you don’t have one there is usually someone on a group ride who does (but don’t count on it).
If you are joining the group for the post-ride social, bring a lock. Carry a credit card, cell phone and a little cash to buy refreshments. Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road. Please represent us well.
Note: Your RSVP signifies that you agree to the following. Organizers, event hosts and other participants will not be held responsible for any individual at any event. Each rider rides at their own risk and is solely responsible for any damage to their equipment or themselves.
Final Note: RSVP’s cannot include a +1 or Guest. If you choose to bring a friend or family member, they themselves must sign up as a member of NumBumz.
