NE by SE short loop to save my knee

Pace: ~11-13 mph

Start Time: Meet and greet at 6:00 PM.  We leave at 6:15 PM sharp so please plan accordingly.  We honor those who arrange their schedule to be on time.

Distance: ~13 miles

Route:  Link to Route Map:  http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4209143

Hills: Normal ups and downs but no big hills for our mountain goat friends.  ;-)

Attitude: We will be moving along with 1 short break.  Please be able to ride a steady 11-13 mph for the whole ~13 miles.

Traffic: Be comfortable riding around and in traffic.  We'll be using bike friendly roads and trails through out the city.  Usually we've had very light traffic.  When riding in a group please don't follow to closely and check for traffic at each intersection for yourself.

This is a social group ride but, please be comfortable with continuous riding with no long breaks.  You won't build muscle or lose weight standing still...

RSVP Management:  If you are planning to ride and then can't for some reason please change your RSVP so that others may join in.

Ride Leader: Neal Peterson[masked];  [masked]  Please call or email with any questions.

Weather Cancellation Policy: We ride in rain showers but brutal cold (below 30), soupy fog or sideways rain will cancel.

Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request.

Always bring plenty of water, snacks for energy, a flat repair kit, including a spare tube.  A tool kit and small pump is good, but if you don’t have one there is usually someone on a group ride who does.  Carry a credit card and a little cash to buy refreshments.

Mandatory for all riders.

Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road.  Please represent us well.

All riders must have their rides in good working order and must bring a flat kit & spare tube on all rides. If there is an issue with proper working or lack of equipment you may be asked to sit the ride out. Please ask for help if you are ill equipped prior to the ride. We will try to help!

All riders must be able to change a flat should they have one or have a way to get picked up (AAA, a friend…). There is often but not always someone on the ride who knows how to help you change your tire so plan accordingly.

Note: Your RSVP signifies that you agree to the following. Organizers, event hosts and other participants will not be held responsible for any individual at any event. Each rider rides at their own risk and is solely responsible for any damage to their equipment or themselves.

Final Note: RSVP’s cannot include a +1 or Guest. If you choose to bring a friend or family member, they themselves must sign up as a member of NumBumz.

The best spring ride so far. All of you that were scared away by the weather we had earlier in the day missed out. We had maybe 5 drops of rain and minimal wind. It was a terrific tour of Portland's blend of architecture and we kept moving the entire ride. Green lights from Broadway to Dekum on Williams, a rarity. David, David and Kathy, thank you for coming out on a ride with what looked like might be some really rough weather. We even finished the ride with light in the sky.

Aaargh! I knew it was going to be great when I noticed how nice the weather looked at the time of the ride. I should have followed your determination to go. Hope to see you soon. Aaagh, again!

That's the thing about spring weather. It changes so fast that it's hard to predict. I decided long ago not to let what's happening with the weather limit my activity plans.

Argh ! I knew it was highly changeable and I may have regrets. I saw you bike by my house and wanted to run out and say Wait! But I had already got involved with a lasagne project. Live and learn
