Flower Series - Lilacs & Tulips - 18/36 Miles

If you like to stop and smell the flowers, this ride is just for you.  I just love the fragrance of lilacs.  Ahhhh.......

This ride is all about flowers, lilacs and any tulips that are still in bloom.  Bring $3 for admission in to the Lilac Gardens.  The route is very easy and very flat on low volume roads.

Pace: 13-14 mph on the flats

Start Time:  10:30 AM sharp

Distance:  18 miles once around the loop, 36 if you decide to go twice.

Hills:  Nope

Attitude: Casual and easygoing group ride.

Traffic: Not much

Group Ride at an easy casual pace.

Ride Leaders: Jan Westfall[masked]  [masked].  Please call or email with any questions.

Weather Cancellation Policy: We ride in rain showers but brutal cold, soupy fog or sideways rain will cancel.

Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request.

Always bring plenty of water, snacks for energy, a flat repair kit, including a spare tube.  A tool kit and small pump is good, but if you don’t have one there is usually someone on a group ride who does.  Carry a credit card and a little cash to buy refreshments.

Mandatory for all riders.

Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road.  Please represent us well.

All riders must have their rides in good working order and must bring a flat kit & spare tube on all rides. If there is an issue with proper working or lack of equipment you may be asked to sit the ride out. Please ask for help if you are ill equipped prior to the ride. We will try to help!

All riders must be able to change a flat should they have one or have a way to get picked up (AAA, a friend…). There is often but not always someone on the ride who knows how to help you change your tire so plan accordingly.

Note: Your RSVP signifies that you agree to the following. Organizers, event hosts and other participants will not be held responsible for any individual at any event. Each rider rides at their own risk and is solely responsible for any damage to their equipment or themselves.

Final Note: RSVP’s cannot include a +1 or Guest. If you choose to bring a friend or family member, they themselves must sign up as a member of NumBumz.

What was the route, Jan? Would love to do this ride. We were on our way to the Wildflower ride in Chico. Beautiful country, but unfortunately it rained and everyone got really cold.

The tulips were beautiful and the lilacs were so fragrant. A very flat ride on very low volume roads right next to the Lewis and Columbia Rivers. A great group to ride with as always. I absolutely loved all the color today and to top it off, not one drop of rain. Happy Day!

I have to go bid a job. Not nearly as much fun as smelling the flowers, but being addicted to food .....

Jan & Joan, thanks for thinking of me. Would love to join you all this coming Saturday. Unfortunately I have a conflict. I am ready signed up for a photography class @ Newspace during that time. Enjoy the flowers. There is also a rather large lily farm in Woodland, WA our group may want to visit. But that would be for a later time in the summer.
